Practical Completion was reached last week in our project to turn Carmichael Place Net Zero. In collaboration with our tenants, Warmworks and CSQ, works commenced in Q4 2024 to replace the existing heating infrastructure with an Air Source Heating and Cooling System, complemented with PV panels.
The new system is said to have improved staff comfort levels by offering greater control over how spaces are heated. The project has demonstrated how such a system can be installed in a leased building, shared with three other tenants, with ‘minimal disruption’ to daily operations.
Ian Cuthbert, net zero programme manager at Warmworks, said, “We are delighted that our Edinburgh office is now entirely heated by renewable energy. We have also demonstrated that a business can collaborate with a landlord and other tenants in a shared office building to reach a common goal of helping lower greenhouse gas emissions.”
