Work has commenced on the first phase of the Borders Gateway development which includes a Costa Coffee Drive Through and MFG Petrol Filling Station.

Scottish Borders Council convener David Parker said: “It’s exciting to see work starting and I look forward to seeing the progress on the site in the coming months. This is an important development for Tweedbank and it will see a large investment in the area and employment opportunities created for local people.”

A planning application for the second phase comprising a Lidl foodstore and 12,000sqft of Buisness Space is currently with Scottish Borders Council for consideration.
